How to solder Remote CAS

BMW CAS remote key activation

 

After the key has been programmed with Tango, several procedures have to be done additionally to complete adaptation of remote features.

 

After Tango writes a key the new file for immo will be generated. This file have to be saved and uploaded into the CAS.

 

Install CAS and connect the plug.

 

 

Old key with a blade:                                                                

Insert the key in the ignition lock.

Switch ignition ON (position 2).

Wait at least 30 sec.

Switch ignition OFF and remove the key.

Insert the key in the ignition lock and start an engine.

Allow the engine to run at least 1 min.

Switch ignition OFF and remove the key from the ignition lock.

Close all doors, if it was open.

Press buttons CLOSE, OPEN at the key, remote is ready for operating.

 

New key without a blade:                                                           

Insert the key in the key hole. The mechanism will “suck” the key.

In case of no activity see hardware problems such as solder points, plugs, etc.

Switch ignition ON (position 2).

Wait at least 30 sec.

Switch ignition OFF and remove the key.

Insert the key in the key hole and start an engine.

Allow the engine to run at least 1 min.

Switch ignition OFF and remove the key from the ignition lock.

Close all doors, if it was open.

Press buttons CLOSE, OPEN at the key, remote is ready for operating.

 

At an old CAS mainly on E65 the remote may not operate after this procedure. In this case, leave the vehicle and close all doors.

Wait about 5 min, within this time a dashboard will switch off, also will off illumination and the car goes into the “sleep” mode.

Enter in the car, start an engine for a few seconds, switch ignition OFF and press buttons of the key. Remote must be active.
